Monica BenearM.S., CCC-SLP
She has special training in PECS (picture exchange communication system), LAMP (language acquisition through motor programming), Assistive Technology Level II, and Proloquo2go. Monica recently went through extensive training for Oro-facial Myology treatment techniques and is currently working towards her certification.
She has a special interest in working with children who have articulation delays/disorders, feeding concerns, and AAC (augmentative alternative communication) needs.
Monica’s work experience has included 4 years at a pediatric hospital, supervision of speech pathology students in the university clinic, 7 years of teaching the AAC graduate course at UCO, mentoring of clinician’s internships in the OKC area, and private practice since 2009.
Lindy MixonM.S., CCC-SLP
Lindy has special training in ECCO (Enriching Children’s Communication Opportunities) and Hanen (It Takes Two to Talk early intervention training).
She also has experience with PECS (picture exchange communication system), AAC (augmentative alternative communication), and feeding therapy.
Lindy specializes in early intervention and enjoys treating children with language delays and hearing loss.
Lindy’s work experience has included early intervention within the home environment, preschool for children with hearing loss, and private practice at Special Care.
Laura Beth MeyerOTR/L
Laura graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's in exercise and sports science in 2008. She then obtained her masters degree in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2012.
She has specialized training in KT taping. She has a special interest in children with sensory processing disorders, attention deficit disorders, autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and fine/gross motor delays.
She has experience working in level 2 trauma acute care centers, outpatient pediatric clinics, level 2 trauma ICU, and ortho/neuro/general medical acute care.
Kelly MillerM.S., CCC-SLP
She has a special interest in treating children with multiple disabilities, children with development articulation and language needs, as well as children who need AAC.
Her work experience includes acute care, rehabilitative care and outpatient care in a children's hospital, skilled nursing facility, and her current position treating children at Special Care.
Angelica WhalenM.S., CCC-SLP
She has been a Speech-Language Pathologist for approximately four years. In that time, she has gained experience in a wide variety of settings, including the schools, early intervention, home health, and the outpatient clinic setting.
Angelica is licensed by the state of Oklahoma in Speech-Language Pathology and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).
She provides our staff with assistance regarding insurance approvals, billing, doctor contacts, and much more. We depend on Tammy daily to help us provide the best services possible to our clients and their families.
She has specialized training in Therapeutic Listening, Discrete Trial Training (ABA), Sensory Integration, SOS/Toomey approach for feeding therapy, the Get Permission Approach for feeding, Handwriting Without Tears, and PECS.
Laura has a special interest in treating children with feeding/eating difficulties, autism, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, handwriting, and social skills deficits.
Laura has experience in the public school setting, outpatient hospital setting, private schools, SoonerStart/Early Intervention, home and community settings, and alongside a developmental pediatrician. In addition, Laura is the owner of the Great Changes Resource Center in OKC where occupational and speech therapy are provided.
Diana DoretyM.A., CCC-SLP
Diana decided to go back to school and major in Speech-Language Pathology following her experience of being a second grade teacher.
She has training in LAMP (language acquisition through motor planning) for PRC devices.
She enjoys working withchildren who have articulation and language delays as well as AAC (augmentative alternative communication) needs.
Diana's work experience has included private practice work in home, school, and clinical settings.
She has also experienced pediatric telepractice.
Amber Abel SmithM.S., CCC-SLP
She has specialized training in the Beckman oral motor protocol and she holds a certificate for the Hanen - More Than Words protocol
She has experience in early intervention from birth to 5 years of age, pediatric outpatient settings, inpatient hospital, nursing home, and home health care settings
She is currently providing speech therapy services to children in private practice settings in the home, daycare/school, and in a clinical environment.
Carolyn DurbinM.S., CF-SLP
Carolyn has a special interest in working with children who have hearing impairment, feeding and swallowing needs, and delayed/disordered articulation skills.
She currently works in private practice settings where she provides speech therapy services to children in their home environment, daycare/school settings, and in a clinical environment.
Robin HowardTitleM.S., CCC-SLP
She enjoys treating children in the areas of articulation, early language development, and functional communication for special needs.
Robin's work experience includes Sooner Start early intervention, public schools (K-12th), Head Start, private practice, andteletherapy.
